- Prepare: Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt: In a saucepan over low heat, melt together the sweetened condensed milk, butter, chocolate chips, and salt. Stir until smooth.
- Add Flavor: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Optional: Add chopped nuts if desired.
- Pour: Pour the mixture into the prepared pan.
- Chill: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Cut: Lift the fudge from the pan using the parchment paper and slice.
