Old Fashioned Fried Pork Chops

Directions:

1. Begin by marinating the pork chops in buttermilk. Place them in a shallow dish, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best flavor).
2. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
3. Remove the pork chops from the buttermilk and allow the excess to drip off. Dredge each chop in the flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere the coating.
4. Heat about 1/4 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the pork chops, being sure not to overcrowd the pan.
5. Fry the chops for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
6. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil before serving.
