Instructions:
1. In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
2. Add flour, olive oil, salt, and sugar to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
4. Preheat oven to 475Β°F (245Β°C). Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
5. In a saucepan, combine crushed tomatoes, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
6. Spread the sauce over the pizza dough, leaving a border for the crust.
7. Add shredded mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and any other desired toppings.
8. Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
9. Remove from the oven, top with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve hot.
