Hobo Casserole Recipe
Preheat the Oven:

Cook the Ground Beef:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the diced onion and sauté until softened. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
Layer the Ingredients:
Arrange a layer of thinly sliced potatoes on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle a portion of the cooked ground beef and onion mixture over the potatoes. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of potatoes.
Preparation:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth. Pour the mixture evenly over the casserole, ensuring all layers are covered.
Add the Cheese:
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
Bake:
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the potatoes are tender.
