Instructions
- Prepare the Batter:
- In a microwave-safe bowl or large mug, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder (if using), baking powder, and salt.
- Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir until the batter is smooth and lump-free.
- Optional Add-Ins:
- Mix in chocolate chips, nuts, or sprinkles for extra texture and flavor.
- Microwave:
- Microwave the cake batter on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on your microwave’s wattage.
- Start checking at 1:30 to ensure the cake doesn’t overcook. The cake is ready when the top is set and springs back when gently touched.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the cake cool for a couple of minutes before digging in.
- Optionally, top with whipped cream, frosting, powdered sugar, or a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
Tips and Variations
- Vanilla Cake: Skip the cocoa powder and add an extra 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
