After eating bananas, cut the peels into smaller pieces. The smaller the pieces, the faster they will break down.
Place the peels in a bottle: Fill a bottle with the banana peel pieces. You can use a plastic or glass bottle.
Add water: Fill the bottle with water, completely covering the peels. Leave a little room at the top to allow room for fermentation.
Cap the bottle: Place the cap on the bottle, but do not close it tightly. This allows the gases produced during fermentation to escape.
Let it ferment: Place the bottle in a dark place and let it ferment for several days. During this process, the shells will decompose, releasing nutrients into the water.
Filter the liquid: After a few days, filter the liquid to separate the peels. The resulting liquid is a nutrient-rich liquid fertilizer.
Use the fertilizer: You can dilute the fertilizer with water before using it to water your plants. This liquid is especially beneficial for plants that require high potassium, such as tomatoes and peppers.
