Amish Broccoli Salad

Bowl full of Amish broccoli salad with cauliflower, cheese, and bacon.

Ingredients

▢1 medium head broccoli
▢1 medium head cauliflower
▢1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
▢8 slices bacon fried and crumbled
▢1 cup mayonnaise
▢½ cup sour cream
▢¼ cup sugar see notes
▢2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
▢1 teaspoon salt.

Instructions

Chop the broccoli and cauliflower into bite-sized pieces. Add to a large mixing bowl with the cheddar and bacon. Stir to combine.

Add the mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, vinegar, and salt to a small bowl and whisk to combine.
Pour the dressing over the broccoli and stir to coat.
Refrigerate for 2-3 hours before serving.
Tips & Notes:
With ¼ cup of sugar, this does have a bit of sweetness to it, but it’s not as sweet as many Amish salads are, due to our personal preference. You can increase the sugar up to ¾ of a cup if you like things sweeter.
Add in some diced red onion if you like a bit of bite in your salads.
